Elijah and the Widow
1 Kings 17:1-16
Elijah and a woman trust God, and God makes the oil and flour not run out.
MEMORY VERSE
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
Proverbs 3:5, NIV
SAY THIS:
God’s got it.
ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER:
MORNING TIME
When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning! I see someone I love. I love [child’s name]! Guess who else loves [child’s name]. God loves [child’s name]!”
DRIVE TIME
While on the go, look for places where you can get food. (Restaurant, grocery store, etc.) Talk about how God made sure the oil and flour would not run out so Elijah, a woman, and her son would always have bread to eat. Wow!
CUDDLE TIME
Cuddle with your child and pray: “Dear God, please help [child’s name] and me trust You with all of our heart.”
BATH TIME
Add bubbles, a heart-shaped sponge, and toys to bath time. Ask your child to search in the the bubbles. When they find a toy, name the toy, and drop it back in the water. When they find the heart, say: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
