“God has given a son to us.”
Isaiah 9:6, NCV
When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! I’m so excited it’s Christmas, because Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus’ birthday!”
While on the go, look for babies and baby things. How many different baby things can you find? When you’re done, talk about how God sent an angel to tell Mary she was going to have a baby named Jesus. Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son.
Cuddle with your child and pray: “Dear God, thank You for loving [child’s name]. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving...(ask your child to name people God loves). I know You love us because You gave us Your Son, Jesus.”
Add a toy baby and other toys to bath time. Tell your child to close their eyes, find a toy, and then open their eyes. If your child is holding the baby, say, “Yay! God has given a Son to us!” (Isaiah 9:6 NCV) If they’re holding another toy, say, “Try again!”
