Who is Jesus? (Week 1, 2, & 3)
OVERVIEW:
Real Talk is a series designed to help year 6 and 7s take steps toward having real, honest conversations about sex and relationships. While students in this phase will approach this topic from different places, the goal is to help them discover God’s truth about sex and relationships and how that applies to their lives, both now and in the future. Though they may feel awkward or uncomfortable, it’s important to keep the conversation going, especially in a safe space like church!

DO THIS
MORNING TIME
As your middle schooler starts their day, encourage them by letting them know something you learned from them recently.
DRIVE TIME
While on the go this week, bring up a recent news item you know your kid is interested in and ask your middle schooler what he/ she thinks about it. Be careful not to judge or attempt to correct their opinion. Instead, show that you are interested in their take!
MEAL TIME
At a meal this week, talk about a show or movie you’ve seen recently as a family. Try to discuss specifically how topics like sex, relationships, and dating were portrayed.
BED TIME
Pray: “God, help me to be someone my kid can talk with about sex. Give me your wisdom to know how to respond and help me to respond well.”
